Last month, 17-year-old Erin DiMeglio made history by becoming the first female quarterback in Florida to complete a pass. This past weekend, Erin had something else to celebrate: Her classmates voted her Homecoming Queen.

At halftime of the football game, Erin took off her helmet and put on a silver tiara. She still wore her football jersey and pads. She was in the process of leading the team to a shut-out victory. Erin told reporters (quote) “It's really cool to be noticed as the homecoming queen and be a football player. I never thought I was going to win. This is crazy.”
