It's an incredibly sad day in the world of radio. Having worked with Kidd on his show in Dallas, I can say that this news caught me off guard over the weekend.
Morning radio legend Kidd Kraddick died unexpectedly on Saturday, at the age of 53. He was at a charity golf tournament outside New Orleans. The official cause of deathbeen confirmed to be cardiac related, pending a toxicology report.
He was at a charity golf event in Gretna, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans.
The event was for his charity, Kidd's Kids, which raises about $800,000 every year for kids ages five to 11 who have terminal or chronic illnesses, or were accident victims.
He left behind a daughter, Caroline, from a previous marriage who's currently in college at Oklahoma City University.
Five days before he died suddenly on a golf course in New Orleans, he did a radio segment called "Deathbed Confessions".
