My wife, Theresa, does most of the laundry in our house*. She's usually pretty good at it, but sometimes she forgets to check the pockets.
As I put my hand in my pocket, I felt a sticky substance. Upon further inspection, it's the remains of a stick of chewing gum that I hadn't chewed yet.
Who's at fault here?
I wasn't warned that it was laundry day, otherwise I would have emptied my pockets. Shouldn't the person doing the wash be responsible for checking all pockets?
This is not the first time this has happened. Theresa has laundered money, USB drives, my wallet, medication, and now gum. I'm starting to take it personally.
At least the outside is clean...and minty fresh!
*By "most", I mean "all".
