I'm spotlighting different kids books this week, because I think it's important to keep our kids reading during the summer. Here's a picture of me reading my daughter's newest book:
Remember, each of these books will be an out-of-the-ordinary, yet very cool, children's book.
The wait is over... here is my book for Day 4:
Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey
The actual title of the book is, Captain Underpants And The Big, Bad Battle Of The Bionic Booger Boy: Part 2 The Revenge Of The Ridiculous Robo-Boogers.
I know what you're thinking...that's quite a title. But my daughter loves to say it.
This book definitely knows what the kids like. Even my daughter's friends come over and get a kick out of it.
Follow George and Harold as they work together with Captain Underpants to figure out how to overcome a bully and defeat the germ infested bad guys. (I love their solution).
I'd recommend this book to older kids because there are complicated elements involved in the story. (Example: time travel, mind swapping). Also included is a flip-book that teaches you the Underpants Dance.
Lots of hijinx and some witty writing make this a winner. The artwork is fun and easy to understand too.
