So, I'm spotlighting different kids books this week, because I think it's important to keep our kids reading during the summer. Here I am researching another good one:
Just to recap, this week, I'll feature a new book every day and each of these books will be an out-of-the-ordinary, yet very cool, children's book.
Let's Continue Day 2 with:
Squish: Super Amoeba by Jennifer L. Holm & Matthew Holm
Squish is about a young amoeba that loves to read comic books, eat twinkies, and have fun. Much like any kid in school, he gets pretty excited about Taco Day too. He's also heavily inspired by his favorite comic book superhero, Super Amoeba.
He has lots of cool friends including Peggy & Pod. When Peggy is threatened by a bully, Squish looks to his inspiration and handles the situation.
I enjoy this book because it helps kids learn science terms like Amoeba and Mitosis (above), while providing a fun story.
