Would you agree that it’s very easy to be self-critical? It’s easy to think you’re not good enough or you’re not pretty enough or skinny enough or rich enough or young enough. It’s easy to say you “can’t” and then never actually try. It’s so hard to overcome your fears that hold you back from doing what you want to do. It’s easy to let negative thoughts determine your course in life.
If any of this is applies to you, I want you to try something. I want you to post notes around your house, in your car, on your mirror, in your closet, in the fridge, wherever it makes sense for you…and I want you to write positive affirmations about you or about some outcome you wish to achieve. Positive affirmations redirect your values, your goals and your way of thinking.
I want you to think about the things you are good at, the things you have achieved, the people who love you, the things you like about yourself. Write it down, even the small things. If you think you have a great head of thick, healthy hair, write it down. Because that little reminder will hopefully redirect your focus away from something you don’t like about yourself the next time you look in the mirror.
When you stay focused on the positive, you have the capability to change your entire outlook and adopt a better attitude. When you adopt a better attitude, people are attracted to that and you find yourself in healthier relationships. Practice positive affirmations daily. At first, it may not be easy to hear the affirmation above the internal noise of negative thoughts and feelings, but just like anything, constant practice makes it easier. Just a thought.
