27-year-old San Diego Chargers fan Jesse Unger was tailgating in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium, spending the time before kickoff by throwing a football around.
A cop told him to stop because of the law against it in San Diego.
Unger thought the cop was joking.
No such luck. There actually is a law against throwing a football around the parking lot – and Unger was written a ticket with a fine of $280.
When he showed up to court to fight the ticket, the judge showed mercy and agreed to suspend the fine in exchange for a guilty plea.
“I plead guilty to throwing the football, Your Honor," Unger said – and was off the hook.
