Miss Chinatown Houston crowns Clements High grad

More than  800 people filled the ballroom at the Royal Sonesta for the recent 47th annual Miss Chinatown Houston 2017 pageant. Nine area women, ages 17-25, competed for the crown, scholarships and the chance to compete in the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant in 2018.

In the end, the crown went to Janet Chen, a Clements High School graduate who will be attending University of Texas at Austin this fall. First Princess (first place)went to Kelly Yang, also a Clements High grad who is attending Stephen F. Austin University; Second Princess (second place) to Serena Yang, who attends to Texas A&M University; and Laura Anna Gui McReynolds, who will attend Lone Star College, was named Miss Talent.
